To that Henar Torinos contributes a lot. His drawing has that manga quality of exaggerated facial features and continuous caricature when the scene calls for it and it helps the story to be more adventurous than dramatic although it could have been treated from a greater gravity, let’s not forget that the setting is nothing less than an earthquake in Los Angeles. In the actual settings, reflected in a much more detailed style than in the characters or the action, you can tell that there is a desire for there to be a homage to the Californian city in Hugo Marker and the end of the world, beyond the exploitation of what is no less than a commercial brand. That we forget that for many pages is the greatest merit of Torinos, which knows how to highlight the qualities of the protagonists and even make the most deliberately absurd moments of the script, such as the zebra trying to eat a cell phone, fit into the background of the story. It’s obviously a product meant for fans who want to see the guy they follow on YouTube in a completely different setting but one that doesn’t stray that far from his spirit. Seeing who the writer is, the shocking thing would have been the opposite, so it is easy to conclude that it is a comic that meets the expectations generated and that can almost be seen as the first episode of a longer series to come.
¡Ella me inspira tanto! #shera #catradora
