To ask you at this point why you chose fashion would be quite misguided, especially after reading the opinion articles you wrote for Icon magazine. I remember one in which you talked about how the watch you gave to an ex-partner of yours ended up marking your relationship. Is that what fashion is all about for you?
Fashion magazines have started a process of spectacularization. Kim Kardashian starred on one of the covers of Harper's Bazaar in Saudi Arabia, and singers like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber have appeared in editorials halfway around the world. What does this process entail?
The fashion industry has changed completely, not just the magazines. In the golden era of haute couture, the system was a redoubt to which very few people had access. Today, however, the fashion industry is a show business, which has undergone a transformation like many other industries, as a result of the information society in which we live. Globalization allows images to be instantly available all over the world. For this reason, fashion has global audiences that it has never had before. The fact that celebrities now participate in the system is one of the consequences of this change, but there are many more. Having a fashion show watched live by ten million people seems to me to be a brutal transformation in the creative approach. It affects how clothing collections should be shown and how they should be sold.

To answer these and many other questions, a definitive guide to men's elegance that combines analysis of the historical evolution of dress, anecdotes and practical information. The structure is based on four main blocks (tailoring, sportswear, accessories and shoes) which are presented with an introduction and a historical image and then broken down into specific sections, only apparently encyclopedic, for each of the most significant garments. The guide, elegantly illustrated, is timeless and transcends the trends of the moment to become a classic and entertaining reference. "Let thy dress be as costly as thy faculties will allow; but not affected in its workmanship, rich, not extravagant, for the costume tells by the com@n who the subject is, and French gentlemen and principal lords have very delicate taste in this matter.
