The activities, which can be followed both in person and virtually through the website of the Italian Cultural Institute in Madrid, begin with the ‘Lecturae Dantis’ cycle, dedicated to the reading of Dante’s verses.
In September, the Complutense University of Madrid will host an exhibition with works by the Italian poet from different institutions and some treasured by the academic center, such as a first 16th century edition of the ‘Divine Comedy’ and incunabula from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Isabel María García Fernández, vice rector of Culture, Sports and University Extension of the UCM, has announced the launching of an artistic call, in collaboration with the Faculty of Philology and Fine Arts, so that «all those who wish to do so can interpret Dante’s work and produce their own artistic work».
Pappalardo mentioned two exhibitions, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one of them dedicated to photographs of Dante’s places in Italy and the other focused on illustrations about him.
